Recently, the group standard Guidelines for Testing and Evaluation Methods of Electrosynthetic Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) Catalytic Electrodes and Production Devices (T/CI 1468-2026), administered by the China International Science and Technology Promotion Association, was officially released and implemented. Zhejiang Epai Technology Co., Ltd, as one of the core drafting organizations, jointly completed the formulation of the standard together with Fujian Normal University, Griffith University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Hunan Shuangyang High-Tech Chemical Co., Ltd., Wuhan University of Science and Technology, and other academic institutions and enterprises.

This represents a milestone standard in China electrochemical synthesis industry. It fills the gap in testing and evaluation methods for electrosynthetic hydrogen peroxide catalytic electrodes and production systems, providing the industry with unified, scientific, and operational technical standards.

01 Why Is This Standard So Important?

With the rapid development of China fine chemical, new energy, and environmental governance industries, electrosynthetic hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), as a green and highly efficient synthesis technology, is experiencing growing application demand in semiconductor cleaning, wastewater treatment, pulp bleaching, chemical synthesis, and energy storage.

Its testing methodology is a critical component for evaluating synthesis efficiency, optimizing process parameters, ensuring product quality, and supporting safe applications. It also provides an important foundation for technological R&D and industrial commercialization.

At present, there is no unified methodology regarding testing principles, reagent selection, instrument configuration, operating procedures, result calculation, and precision requirements. As a result, data comparability among institutions remains poor, and the reliability of results is insufficient, which constrains technological optimization, product quality control, and cross-sector application expansion.

The establishment of the Guidelines for Testing and Evaluation Methods of Electrosynthetic Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) Catalytic Electrodes and Production Devices will standardize testing methodologies, improve the scientific rigor and accuracy of data, promote the standardized development of technology and industry, and provide strong technical support for green chemistry, new energy development, and environmental governance, thereby driving technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

02 Epai Technology: Contributing Technical Expertise to Industry Standard Development

As a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of green electrocatalytic materials, core reaction stacks, and intelligent equipment, Epai Technologyhas focused on the field of electrosynthetic hydrogen peroxide since its establishment.

From the very beginning, the company has built a comprehensive intellectual property system spanning catalysts, electrode materials, reaction stacks, integrated systems, and technology applications. As of December 2025, the company had applied for 48 patents, nearly 70% of which are invention patents. Its technologies have already been successfully applied in scenarios such as household appliance disinfection and industrial water treatment.

Being invited to participate in drafting this group standard represents authoritative recognition by the industry of Epai Technology technical accumulation and R&D capabilities.

03 Standard Release: Setting Benchmarks for the Industry and Paving the Way for Innovation

The official implementation of the Guidelines for Testing and Evaluation Methods of Electrosynthetic Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) Catalytic Electrodes and Production Devices will have far-reaching impacts:

For Research Institutions:

It provides unified experimental evaluation criteria, accelerating the transformation of fundamental research into practical applications.

For Manufacturing Enterprises:

It lowers technical development barriers, reduces repetitive trial-and-error processes, and improves product consistency.

For Downstream Users:

It offers reliable references for technology selection and enhances confidence in electrosynthesis technologies.

For the Industry as a Whole:

It establishes a healthy competitive order and guides resources toward high-quality technological innovation.

As the name of the standard suggests, it is not merely a “testing and evaluation method,” but also a “weathervane” for industry development, guiding electrosynthetic hydrogen peroxide technology toward greater efficiency, stability, and sustainability.

04 Looking Ahead: Building Technological Excellence on the Foundation of Standards

Participation in the development of this group standard marks an important milestone in the growth journey of Epai Tech but it is far from the endpoint.

Moving forward, the company will continue to uphold its philosophy of “Technological Innovation, Green Future” and remain deeply committed to advancing the electrochemical field.

We firmly believe that under the guidance of unified technical standards, the electrosynthetic hydrogen peroxide industry will enter a golden era of development. Epai Tech looks forward to working hand in hand with partners from all sectors to open a new chapter in green electrochemistry.
